Who I am:
My website address is https://blog.kasson.com. I am a private person, not a company.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture, should you choose to provide one, is visible to the public adjacent to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
If you fill out a contact form and include a valid email address, I will know that email address. I’ll keep it at least until any conversation between us is over, and I may keep it longer if future contact appears likely. If you tell me to forget the address, I will delete it.
Cookies
This site uses cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. The cookies I use are ‘1st party’ cookies. I don’t use any ’3rd party’ cookies (these are often used to track behavior across a range of websites, so targeted advertising can then be applied) The following list outlines what I use cookies for:
Google Analytics: Google Analytics sets cookies to help us accurately estimate the number of visitors to the website and what content is most popular.
Temporary cookies are used to track action from one page to the next. No personal information is involved.
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
By using and browsing this website, you consent to cookies being used in accordance with this policy. If you do not consent, turn off cookies in your browser or refrain from using the site. Most browsers allow you to turn off cookies. To do this, look at the ‘help’ menu on your browser. Switching off cookies should not noticeably restrict your use of this site.
Links to other websites
Articles on this site may include links to content from other websites. If you click on them, they behave in the same way as if you has visited the other website by typing the URL into your browser, except that they flag this site as the referrer.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
