I was watching Patty Griffin on Austin City Limits a while back. At the end of the hour, they ran an interview as they rolled the credits. She said something that hit home:
“Song writing is listening, not participation. You need to wait for the song to show up. You wait around, hoping that the Muses throw one your way — fill your heart with something.”
We photographers spend a lot of time planning and doing. It can’t hurt to take a few minutes, be real quiet, and see if the Muses appear.
