This is the 44th in a series of posts on the Hasselblad X2D 100C camera and the XCD lenses. You will be able to find all the posts in this series by looking at the righthand column on this page and finding the Category “X2D”.
I test for focus curvature with Roger Cicala’s method. In Photoshop, Filter>Stylize>Find Edges.
Test conditions:
- X2D 100C
- 90mm f/2.5 XCD
- ISO 64
- f/2.5
- 1/1400 to 1/1700 second, electronic shutter
- AF-S (the only find there is)
- Handheld
- Developed in Lr with default settings
This is excellent performance. The focal plane for the edges are a tiny bit closer to the camera than they should be for a rectilinear lens. Also, there is very little sharpness falloff off axis.
