My whole website, including this blog, was out of service from about 10:00 PDT last night until 7:00 this morning. It was my fault. I wasn’t paying attention to the disk storage being used by backups and the site ran up against its disk storage limit. It didn’t fail gracefully; everything just came to a screeching halt. With a little help from Media Temple, my hosting company, we got things working again. You may have noticed some long page load times over the last two weeks; I think we may have fixed that, too.
Thanks to all of you for your support.

I remember when the first Leica M cameras came out, with a problem no one anticipated. Leica apologized, offered two free filters to those affected and fixed the problem in the next model.
When Nikon cameras started flinging oil all over the place, Nikon refused to admit there was a problem, although they (almost subersively) made repairs. And they fixed the problem in the next model.
Everyone makes mistakes. The difference lies in how we address them. Bravo.
Mike.
