This is a continuation of a series of posts about reworking my website into one that is entirely WordPress based. The series starts here:
To get an idea about what I could do with WordPress themes, I bought a copy of Photocrati and installed it on a sandbox system.
If you want to watch me stumble around, here’s the link.

That’s a lovely Towhee you have there!
My coding days began in the Assembly/Basic/Fortran days and mostly ended a decade ago (in the 5GL days) so I’m sure you know much more about this than I do. However, if it’s of any use to you, our son (the IT specialist and web designer) set up our blog for us and I’ve made some changes since then. We use the following:
WP Theme: Atahualpa (https://wordpress.org/themes/atahualpa/ and http://forum.bytesforall.com/) It’s pretty robust and there are a number of options for layout.
Mobile page: WPTouch Mobile plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wptouch/)
For image galleries we use NextGEN Gallery (from the photocrati people – https://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-gallery/)
Hope that helps! One of the challenges with WordPress is that there are SO MANY options.
Mike.

Thanks, Mike. I currently write a lot of Matlab code, but if my objective in this project to write either a trivial amount or no code at all.
