I’ve received some queries about a future Nikon D6 review. I thought hard about doing one, and I’ve decided to take a pass on the D6. The improvements over the D5 seem modest at best, and I’m not particularly interested in the AF improvements, which are probably the most significant ones in the new camera. I am really happy with the a9II AF, and I think there’s more AF upside with MILCs and their high-resolution image analysis.
In fact, I may have purchased my last DSLR. I’ll hang on to the D5 for a while, but I hardly use it at all, and it is my policy to review only gear that i am interested in actually using.

I’m rather curious to watch and see what your next camera body will actually be. Fuji isn’t supposed to release another GFX body for awhile. Sony has recently refreshed their line. Wonder what Nikon has in store for the Z series?

What a shame. I’ve sold off all my Fuji and Olympus gear over the last year and have only kept my D3, the D500 and the Z6. After a long while being dissatisfied with photography in general, I’ve finally got the itch again to dive in, and the D6 is highly interesting to me, mostly for the improvements in autofocus. Sentimentally I’m also interested in it just in case rumors are correct, and D6 turns out to be Nikon’s final DSLR model. I’ve only found you site today, and would have enjoyed your take on the sensor improvements, if there are any.
