In a frenzy of winter cleanup, I sold the following cameras yesterday:
- Nikon D3
- Nikon D810
- Nikon D850
- Sony a7S
- Sony a7RII
- Sony a7II
- Linhof Master Technika
- Betterlight Super 6K
I also sold a bunch of lenses. Whew!
The pace of camera innovation continues to amaze me. I now own only one DSLR. Recently, I’ve been greatly impressed with the Sigma 35/1.2 Art and the 24-70/4 Nikkor S. I need to clear the decks for more good stuff. I will continue to report on the most interesting gear in this blog.

Please please please try the sigma 35/1.2 adapted to the GFX series, I’d love to know if that’s a viable option for astro.

I don’t know how to do that. The flange focal distances are incompatible. There’s also the issue of electrical control of the lens.

Jim,
What’s your daily shooter now?
JimK says
I don’t have one. I pick the camera and lens combination that seems to be best for the task. Over the last month or so, outside of testing, I’ve used the a7RIV, a9II, and Z7.
