Last night was the opening reception for my exhibition at the Monterey Museum of Art. Here are a few photos.
The dark walls and tight spotlights make for good print viewing, but for challenging photography.
Photography meets digital computer technology. Photography wins -- most of the time.

Lookslikea great show – congratulations!

Great images you produce, and some are really art, not pictures. I would definitely visit the exhibition if I lived closer. I also envy you for the bella vista from your window 🙂
All the best

Thank you. I think that as children, we are all capable of making art. It seems that, in growing up, some people lose that ability, or interest in using it.

Even some younger ones seem to have sneeked in – good for them! – There’s lots to be seen there! – Mr. Kasson, how long did it take you, to get the prints right for the exhibition – and to choose and group them?

I worked on and off for six weeks printing them. It took me about 8 hours spread over a few days to choose and group them. We had to make some adjustments later, since I din’t leave enough room for the labels.

Hi Jim
Congratulations for your exhibition ! I wish I could be there, but “hélas” …
My trivial question is about your printer, assuming you are using the P800 or the SC-P800 …
I more ore less have in mind to replace my 4800 whose clogging problems are more than boring.
I read somewhere on a previous post from you that you don’t encounter this problem anymore with your new printer.
Hence my question : Assuming that I don’t print daily or even weekly, would you recommend the choice of the SCP/P800 ?
About the cartridges lasting life, what is your meaning ? They are much smaller than the 4800 ones. I don’t like to think I could fall out of ink in the middle of a wide print.
Best regards

I do have a P800, but I used a 9800 for the prints for the show, since they were all bigger than I could print with the P800.
That said, I find the P800 quite resistant to clogging when used intermittently. It’s certainly light-years better than my old 4900. At the volume that I print, the smaller cartridge size is not an issue. With the 9800, I have difficulty using up some cartridges before their expiration date.
