Sony a7RII conversion gain visual changes — base ISO 12800

In this post, I’ll present pairs of images made with the a7RII on both sides of the conversion gain transition, corrected in post as explained here. The base ISO is 12800. The difference in noise level is apparent.

This is a continuation of the testing started here, but with a base ISO two stops higher. For review, here is the test protocol. In this post, I’ll present pairs of images made with the a7RII on both sides of the conversion gain transition, corrected in post as explained here. The conversion gain change seems to take place with no material color shifts. Looking closer: We can see that the ISO 500 image is noisier.
